**PLEASE READ FIRST (BEFORE) APPLYING**

*AT THIS TIME, WE CAN NOT PROVIDE MONETARY ASSISTANCE TO ACTORS WHO DO NOT HAVE A STEADY INCOME (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CLASS FEE ASSISTANCE.) DUE TO LIMITED FUNDS, GRANTED MONETARY ASSISTANCE MUST RESOLVE YOUR SITUATION AND SUSTAIN YOU SO THAT YOU ARE NOT IN NEED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING MONTH.*
Eligibility for Assistance:
- Aspiring or Beginning Actors: We provide education, tools, resources, and support. Monetary assistance is not available at this level. If you do background/extra work, this is considered a beginner.
- Working Actors: You must be SAG-eligible, AEA, or an active member of SAG to qualify for monetary assistance. The only exception is for class fee assistance. You must provide proof that you're SAG-E or a part of the union. We accept a letter from the union or a screenshot from their website showing your name and status.
- Active Trainees in Georgia: For class fee assistance, you must be actively training in a GA acting studio and provide your coach's name and email along with the name of the studio you are training at. Workshops, intensives, and private coaching from a coach without an acting studio do not qualify for class fee assistance.
- You must be actively in class to receive class fee assistance. We help you stay in class; we do not help you find a class to attend and pay for it month to month. A monthly class fee is a one-time payment. T.A.L.O. has a maximum monthly class fee cap of $300.
- You may apply for up to two things. However, you may only apply for (one) monetary assistance.
- Aid is not guaranteed.
Application Guidelines:
- Aid is a one-time payment (not recurring). Applicants must wait 6 months to reapply if approved.
- Complete the entire application thoroughly. Provide detailed responses and upload necessary documentation (proof of need, resumes for employment assistance, GA ID). Vague applications may result in denial.
- If approved, aid/assistance must be accepted and received by the applicant within two (2) business days. If you fail to meet the qualifications to receive your aid payment or assistance within that time frame your approval for aid/assistance will expire. You must re-apply for assistance within the application window, and approval will not be guaranteed. Terms and policies are updated regularly so we do not guarantee approval based on a previous approval.
Conditions of Aid:
- Aid Availability: Grant funds are limited and will be provided only if it can significantly alleviate your situation. We assess each case individually to ensure the aid has a meaningful and lasting impact.
- Duration of Need: Aid will not be granted if we determine that your situation is likely to resurface within 30 days. In such cases, we may offer alternative forms of support, but financial assistance will not be provided.
- Sustainability Requirement: You must demonstrate a clear plan for long-term stability. We cannot approve monetary assistance unless you can show how the support will not only help resolve your current situation but also ensure you do not fall back into a similar circumstance. Due to limited funds, we prioritize cases that promise sustainable, lasting outcomes.
- Document Submission: If you receive an email requesting additional information, you must submit the required documents within 48 hours. Failure to respond within this timeframe will result in the automatic closure of your case. If further documentation is requested after your initial response, you will have 24 hours to provide the requested materials before your case is closed.
Additional Requirements:
- Aid decisions are final and determined case-by-case based on documentation and fund availability.
- Funds must be available for aid to be provided. With this in mind, feel free to direct people to taloco.org at any time to donate to our cause.
- Applicants must not falsify information. Legitimate proof of need is required.
- Aid is solely for the applying actor, no one else.
- Aid may not always be monetary or for the full amount requested.
- You must be detailed in your application and complete all required fields. If you do not have the information needed for a required field you will not qualify for monetary assistance. Incomplete applications will result in denial.
Residency and Fund Limitations:
- Applicants must be Georgia residents for at least six months, evidenced by GA ID issue date or other substantial valid proof.
- Available funds are limited. Applications are prioritized for those truly in need without immediate family support options.
Compliance and Consequences:
- In most cases, monetary aid will be directed to the specified source, not to the actor directly.
- If T.A.L.O. helps you find employment, you are required to conduct yourself appropriately, with respect for the company who hired you, and for the individuals you work with. You must follow the hiring company's policies and procedures, and codes of conduct. Any reports from employers of a T.A.L.O. actor referral misbehaving or not following our terms may result in a ban from The Actors Life Organization.
- Violation of these terms may result in a lifelong ban from The Actors Life Organization.
Application Window:
- Applications are open from the 15th through the last day of every month for financial-related aid.
- Applications are open all month long for support and employment assistance that is not monetary.
- Your application will be denied if you apply for monetary assistance outside of the application window.
